  1. Does it cost anything to become a member of Soulneeds?

No. Our vision is to help get this to whoever needs it so the Soulneeds membership is a free service and our membership will remain a free service with tons of value. As we expand our reach we will be making some fabulous interactive learning content that our members may opt to add on to their free membership.

  2. How does the nickname field work?

If you fill in the nickname field on your My Profile Information then that is the name that people will see on your profile information. It takes the place of your user name, which will now be hidden from everybody. If you leave this field blank, then they will see your user name instead.

  3. How much information do I need to fill out in my profile?

That is really up to you, depending on how private or public you want to be. However, the more information you make public about yourself the more opportunity you will have to meet and share with other members that are working towards the same goals and areas of interests. If you leave a field blank, it will not be displayed at all, or if you fill out a field you can still decide to keep it private to yourself, just for your friends to see, just for friends and members to see, or open to the public by choosing which setting you want in your Dashboard’s Account Settings for each field. The only fields you absolutely have to fill out are your user name, password, and email address. And all information is kept private and confidential by Soulneeds, the terms and conditions as set forth on the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy Agreements .

  4. Is my information private on SoulNeeds?

You better believe it is. We are big sticklers for privacy, and you can rest assured we won’t be sharing it with anyone. Please review our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy Agreements for your comfort about your information remaining private and confidential.

  5. What if I don’t want certain people to see my information is there a way I can change my privacy settings?

We get that there is a lot of information that you will be creating, and lots of community that you will be able to interact with on your journey at the SoulNeeds site. Some of this you may want to share, some you may want to keep to your friends only and some you may want just for your eyes only. We have created four levels of privacy to give you lots of options about how you build your voice in the community. Remember, by sharing certain things with a bigger audience (ex: Public or Members) you will find others who share your interests. These people can become mentors, form support groups, create friendships, create advisory groups and brainstorming groups, and so much more. So keep that in mind as you are setting up the way you want others to see and find you.

  6. Why is it when I am filling in my profile information you have Areas of Interest?

First reason, if we know what you are interested in we can then help you find the best content for that area. Second reason, we believe that you should have opportunities to connect with people that are interested in the same things you are, so we are creating ways for you to connect with them via circles, events, people searches and even more ways to be revealed as we rollout our expanded feature sets.

  7. In My Profile what is the Become tab for, and how should I fill in that information?

You fill it in from My Dashboard under the My Profile Information tab. This is where you can really share who you are and what you are up to on your journey. When you see someone else’s profile click the Become tab and learn amazing insights about them thus getting to know some of the important stuff about that person. Of course you can always set this to “private” on your Account Settings, but we believe you will get so much more out of the site when you open yourself up to connecting with others working on the same type of journey.

  8. How do I join a circle?

First, make sure you are logged in. Then click on the circle you are interested in to make sure you are on the page that opens that circle’s posts and comments. If the circle is a Public circle then on the right hand side of the page you will see a large green button that says “Join Circle”. Click this button to join the circle.

  9. How do I create a circle?

We want you to get the conversation going. So on the home page you will see a big orange button that says “Create Your Own Circle”, or you can go to any circle and again on the right side under related circles you will see the option to “Create Your Own Circle”. You can also create your own circles from the main Circles page, which is found by navigating from the Main Navigation bar to Community, then Circles.

  10. What do the Public, Private and Friends Only Circle permission settings do?

When you create a circle you choose which permission setting you want for that circle. A setting of Public means that anyone on the Soulneeds site can see and join that circle. If you choose the Private setting then you can decide between being the only person who can invite others to view and join the circle, or you can allow those you invite to also invite others. No one can view a private circle other than those that have been invited.  If you choose the Friends Only setting then anyone you are friends with can view and join the circle, and you can decide whether you are the only person who can invite others to the circle, or whether you want your friends to also be able to invite their friends into the circle.  Only those people in this Friends network can view the circle.

  11. How do i best make use of the Circles tool?

Circles are a very powerful life tool, and very versatile.  Here are some examples of how you can use Circles:

Think Tanks –  Have a problem you want solved?  Create a circle and invite others to help brainstorm with you.  Or put your problem solving skills to the test and help others in their Think Tank Circles.

Mentoring –  Create or join a Mentoring Circle to learn, teach, and spread knowledge, experience and wisdom with others.

Advisory Groups – Create your own business or personal advisory group forum to kick ideas around.

Support Groups – Create or join a group of people working on the same goals and issues, and help support each other and share insights and  encouragement.

Friends Chats –  Think of Circles as your own friends online chat room, to just kick the conversation can around.

Discussions –  Ask great questions, help give great answers, and open up people's minds with some thought provoking discussions.

Comedy Clubs –  Create or join a free-form joke telling circle to help spread some laughs.

You can setup circles for public use, private invite-only use, or for just Friends networks – You can create your own private walls to post comments on between you and your close friends.  The power is all in your hands.
  12. What are the five colored buttons on the right side of my browser window for?

If you haven’t started playing around with this yet you are missing one of the coolest parts of SoulNeeds. These buttons allow you to keep tabs (no pun intended) on your journey. So if you are viewing a piece of content and you are triggered to set a goal right then and there you can set that goal and not miss a beat. You can also take a note and assign it to a category so you can then go back to your profile and check out all of your notes or even filter your notes by that specific category. We have also given you a Favorites button that allows you to save the piece of content you are currently viewing right into your Favorites tab on your Dashboard so you are only one click away from this content piece whenever you want to return to it. The fourth button is for Feedback, which gives you the direct access to give us feedback and ideas that we can incorporate into our plans to help give you the best site possible. So to use each of these buttons, just click on the one you want and it pops out for you so you never have to leave the screen you are on.

The fifth button, Radio, opens up the Soulneeds Radio Station Broadcasts for your listening enjoyment.

  13. Can I use the five buttons when I am doing other things without losing my place?

That’s why we put them there, so you can keep soaking up all this great content and take a note about it, set a goal, or remember where it is without ever missing a beat.  You can also listen to the Soulneeds Radio stations while you continue to play through other pages.

  14. How do I share a video, article, podcast, or circles with others?

When you are on the screen for that piece of content you wish to share, right under the description body there are multiple share options (facebook, twitter, google buzz, and many more) as well as a direct email button, so just choose how you want to share it, click that button, enter the recipients information and off it goes.

  15. Can I share videos, articles, podcasts, circles with people that are not members of Soulneeds?

Yes. You can share these with anybody, and they can open the link to view them directly. Remember in order for them to join the conversation with a circle, or leave comments, they would need to create their free members account.

  16. I forgot the password to my login, what do I do?

You can either go to the Login button at the top of the page and hit the lost password link and we will email you a link to reset a new password, or you can go to the register button, also at the top, and hit the lost password link for the email. Then the email will walk you through how to get back on the site. By the way, if you would like to be logged in automatically you can click the “remember me” check box and you will remain logged in when entering from that computer.

  17. What is the favorites button on the right hand side of the screen?

By clicking that button you can save the link to the current piece of content you are viewing into your Favorites Vault accessed through your Dashboard.

  18. What are the Related links on the right hand side of pages, how do those work?

The related links to videos, articles, podcasts, circles, events, products, etc. are shown as related to the content you are currently viewing, or the search filter you have chosen. These links are the best matches for the category, subcategory, topic you have chosen, or are based upon your score result on a quiz. These are our related recommendations of what will be most helpful to the topic you are working on at that time.

  19. What is the reason for the categories field on Notes and Goals?

We want you to be able to get back to all your stuff in a way that makes it easy and pertains to you. Imagine after a year on the site watching endless videos, listening to podcasts of the best wisdom, or frantically taking notes about your life, now you want to go back and just see what you have under the Business and Career section. So one click on the filter button and then you are just seeing the goals/notes that pertain to that area only.

  20. Can I upload multiple photos to my profile?

Absolutely. Once you load them up you can drag and drop them to put them in the order you like. The first one will be the one that shows up on your main Profile Page.

  21. Do you have a mobile application?

Our team is working on it as you read this. We can’t wait to get soulneeds in your pocket. We imagine a day in the very near future in which every person will have the right to learn, grow and become more while they are waiting in line for morning latte, or while in the waiting room at the dentist. Everyone should have a coach right in their own pocket. When we get it done, you will be the first to know.

  22. Can I sync content to my outlook or iCal calendars?

We are big on making life easy so we are working on integrating not just the calendar function, but also notes, contacts etc. into the platform you use to manage all this data. Just be forewarned with all the other cool stuff we are creating like the mobile application, intelligent interactive content and so much more this may take a little while before it gets rolled out.

  23. Can I share photos or videos on My Wall?

The answer is not yet. Which means you will. We understand that you all have a lot of photos and videos and we want to make sure during our crazy growth that we can handle the bandwidth of all the photos and videos before we roll out that feature.

  24. What do I do to report problems with the site to SoulNeeds?

Please go to the Help page on the site (click Help on top navigation bar) and under the Contact Us section of the page click on the “Reporting issues & problems” submittal form.

  25. How do I terminate my account?

Just send an email to info@soulneeds.com with the following information included:

    • Subject line: CANCEL MY ACCOUNT
    • Body: Include your user name and email address attached to the account.

We will then verify your cancellation with you at your email address on file with the account. Upon your verification we will cancel your account and delete your information.

  26. Where can I view the Soulneeds Terms of Use Agreement and Privacy Policy Agreement?
