hobby grade servo installation?

hey, I just dug up a few of my Xmods, I wanna give one a full hobby grade electronics conversion, ESC and Receiver seem super easy, but how can I install a hobby grade servo? and whats a good one to get? i was looking at it and i couldn't figure it out, would I need to fab a new ch***is?
and lastly, would this be better to do with my EVO or Gen 1?
